After years of sharing recipes, culinary tips, and personal reflections through my blog and Mailchimp newsletter, I’m thrilled to introduce A Taste of Belonging here on Substack. This space is a new chapter, where I can dive even deeper into the last 20 years of my work in food, and how those years have shaped me. I’ll continue to share recipes that hold a special place in my heart, and recount the stories of how they came to be.
As many of you know, I’ve spent much of my career creating recipes that bring people together, and now, I feel compelled to share more than just the “how-to” of a dish. I want to explore the “why” – why these recipes matter, the memories they evoke, and the ways they’ve woven into my own journey. Through A Taste of Belonging, I’ll also be sharing glimpses into my upcoming memoir of the same name, a deeply personal exploration of bittersweet truths, and the ways food has grounded me over the years.
